So what are you waiting for? The Mornington Peninsula awaits you.
Day one
Spend your first day in this serene oasis following this guide of what to do on the Mornington Peninsula.
Start your day by indulging in a sumptuous breakfast at Pebbles Restaurant, overlooking rolling golf greens and basking in the morning sunshine. Sip on a latte as your fuel your body for a rousing session on the Legends Golf Course. This friendly course is a great option for players of all abilities and skill levels, with 18 holes following the valleys through one of the most spectacular landscapes anywhere on the peninsula. Finish up your morning round on the green before having an indulgent shower and preparing for the next part of your day.
Enjoy dinner at Willow Creek Vineyard, which is just one of the many wineries in the region. Sip on some of the peninsula’s famous cool climate wines and treat yourself to a menu that includes house-made gnocchi with wild venison, Tuscan cabbage, pear and parmesan, alongside decadent desserts like the lemon tart with Campari jelly, passionfruit caramel and creme fraiche. The vineyard’s Salix Restaurant and Bistro provides these sumptuous dishes in a stunning setting, complete with floor-to ceiling windows for you to take in the view.
Day two
After dining at Pebbles for breakfast, consider a horse trek that will see you galloping along the shore. A two hour Gunnamatta Trail Rides trek takes you up on high sand dunes looking of the St Andrews beach coastline, giving horses the opportunity to roam through the ocean water. This experience is truly breath taking and suits most people aged 10 years and over, so it’s family-friendly.
Soak your aching muscles at Peninsula Hot Springs, where you can relax in naturally heated mineral waters. This is Australia’s only natural thermal mineral springs facility, offering bathing and day spa treatments.
Head back home after an utterly invigorating yet relaxing weekend, and start planning your next trip back to this beautiful area.
